The Effect of a 12-Week Physiotherapy Program Supported by a Biopsychosocial Approach on Pain, Stress, Sleep Quality, Bruxism and Jaw Functions in Individuals with Temporomandibular Disorders: A Pilot Study

Biography:

Betul Eksi Ozata, PT, MSc, is a Physiotherapist and PhD Candidate in the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Istinye University, Türkiye. She completed her undergraduate education at Marmara University and her master’s degree at Istanbul Arel University. Her current doctoral research focuses on the effects of a biopsychosocial approach combined with physiotherapy in individuals with temporomandibular disorders. She is actively involved in research on pain, stress, sleep quality, body awareness and biopsychosocial rehabilitation. In addition to her academic work, she develops community-based projects integrating physiotherapy and mental well-being through movement, breathing exercises and body awareness practices.
